What is more Christmas than utter and complete unorganised chaos? No? Just our families? Very well. On December 19th at 21:00, Stranger Things Have Happened brings you a fully improvised, English-language Christmas special. Expect spontaneous scenes, ridiculous holiday drama, unexpected emotions, and absolutely zero scripts. From awkward family dinners to over-the-top festive romance and everything in between — anything can happen, and nothing is planned.

All scenes, characters, and storylines are created on the spot using audience suggestions. So yes, your ideas might just ruin someone’s Christmas. In the best possible way. Celebrate the holidays with laughter, surprises, and just the right amount of festive chaos.

You’ve heard people say less is more. You’ve heard people say more is more. Honestly… we’re not sure either. So on the 28th of November, Stranger Things Have Happened is putting it to the test!

We’ll play four different stories in four different configurations—one with four players, one with three, one with two, and you might have guessed it, one with only one player. Each one completely improvised, completely unpredictable, and maybe, just maybe, one step closer to figuring out what “more” really means.

On Saturday, June 14th, Stranger Things Have Happened will be hosting what we believe to be the very first Groningen Improv Marathon (GIM)!

It’s all happening at our home base, the modest Strangers' Garage (Kostersgang 26a). Audience capacity is limited, but that’s not stopping us from aiming big: we’re looking to fill a full 12 hours (10:00–22:00) with all kinds of performances from improvisers across Groningen and beyond.

Our goal? To celebrate the diversity of improv in our community in a low-key, relaxed, and homey (garage-y!) environment.

Join our Improv Drop-In & Hangout! Whether you're a seasoned performer or brand new to improv, these sessions are the perfect place to connect, play, and sharpen your skills together with other improv enthusiasts from the community. Led by one of our experienced instructors, each evening will cover improv fundamentals, introduce exercises and games to get you in the right mindset, and, of course, provide plenty of time to jam. Have an idea you’d love to try out? Bring it along! You can share it with the group and get feedback (only if you ask for it! 😉). And if you're up for it, stick around after the session to hang out and grab a drink at Strangers' Garage!
